Jeff loves being the pastor of Cross Park Church. Jeff grew up in Conover, NC and attended UNC Chapel Hill and Reformed Theological Seminary. After working with Campus Crusade for Christ for several years and living overseas, Jeff and his wife Trish came to Charlotte in 2010 to start the process of planting Cross Park Church. Jeff and Trish have three girls: Caroline, Claire, and Julia.
Jordan grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and moved south for school, first to Elon University and later, Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. In between, he worked for several years in the business world. He and his wife, Evyn, have four young children. Jordan enjoys planting things in the ground, playing golf, reading with his kids, and as a former Catholic, cheering for Notre Dame football.
Patrick was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He received his undergraduate degree from Furman University where he met his wife Julia. They have 4 children: Anna, Gabrielle, Samantha, and Seth. He and Julia became members of Cross Park in 2012, wooed by the faithful preaching of God’s word and the love and fellowship of the body of Christ. Patrick works as an Internal Medicine Physician.
Tyre and his wife, Sunny, are both natives of Charlotte. They have three children: Jackson, Laurel, and Sam. Tyre earned degrees from UNC and Gordon-Conwell and worked in youth ministry and counseling before becoming a teacher. He has taught math to kids with learning disabilities at East Mecklenburg for the past 14 years. Before Cross Park, Sunny and Tyre were members at Uptown Church where he served as an elder. Jake was raised in Lancaster County, PA and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College. While in college, he also took some great Bible classes and meet his wonderful wife Hannah on a blind date. After enduring additional winters in the north after graduation, they decided to move south for the weather (no… really) and were blessed to find Cross Park Church almost immediately. Jake loves the heart for service that CPC cultivates, and it is his honor and joy to serve and lead God’s people in service.
Dan was born in Germany, but grew up in Silver Springs, MD. He studied economics at the University of Maryland, and has an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte, along with a number of financial licenses. He and his wife Christina have three sons: Luke, Mark, and Zack. Dan and Christina are foster parents, and they hope to enlarge their family through adoption soon. The Emmons have been at Cross Park since the beginning. The Chronicles of Narnia series was instrumental in Dan’s understanding of his need for a Savior. He has never ridden a horse, he pitched a line about teaching Sunday School and also did the worm on the night he met his wife, and he has been voted the coolest/dorkiest deacon four years running (but not really)!
Stephane is a native of Switzerland, but he spent most of his life in Richmond, VA before moving to Charlotte. He received his undergraduate degree at Grove City College and his Masters of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. Currently, he works at RTS Charlotte as the Vice President of Administration, Advancement, and Alumni Relations. Aside from an obsession with Duke Basketball (much to the chagrin of his pastor and various other congregation members), he loves spending time with his beautiful wife, Kelly-Jane, and their daughter Sophie. Stephane also enjoys a good book or action movie.
I grew up as a missionary kid in the Philippines, the oldest of three boys. That experience, first in a remote tribe and then in Manila, helped shape my worldview and give me a global perspective. It also gave me a love of different cultures and an ability to eat almost anything. Almost.
After high school I attended John Brown University, studying business and marketing. Rachel and I started dating my senior year and married a year after I graduated. We have been married for 17 years and have three kids, Judah (11), Damen (8) and Karis (4). I have always loved kids, always wanted to be a father and love being an uncle to 14 kids as well. We lived in Arkansas, Cincinnati and Chicago before settling down here in Charlotte and are blessed to have an incredible network of family living here in town. I love this city and am excited to have my kids grow up here. I am also aware that their childhood is very different from mine, but Rachel and I are trying to cultivate in them a love for other people and other cultures of the world.
My career has always focused on marketing, and in 2012 I had the opportunity to co-found of Theory House, a retail-marketing agency here in Charlotte. I love the helping businesses solve their retail and brand challenges while working in a team-oriented, creative environment. We can even wear shorts to work.
Rachel and I started attending Cross Park soon after we moved to Charlotte and have been part of the church from its beginning. I love the church’s focus on rooting all of life in the gospel. One of my earliest takeaways from CPC was that the gospel is something we need to preach to our hearts daily, not just one time.
My dad has a servant’s heart and has always modeled service to our family and others. I know how important service is for the church and for my heart. I have enjoyed serving Cross Park on the missions committee, in logistics, as a small group leader, and in coordinating the search for our new worship leader. I am humbled to be considered for the role of deacon, and if elected, I look forward to more opportunities to serve the church and broader community.
