Jordan grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and moved south for school, first to Elon University and later, Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. In between, he worked for several years in the business world. He and his wife, Evyn, have four young children. Jordan enjoys planting things in the ground, playing golf, reading with his kids, and as a former Catholic, cheering for Notre Dame football.
Tyre and his wife, Sunny, are both natives of Charlotte. They have three children: Jackson, Laurel, and Sam. Tyre earned degrees from UNC and Gordon-Conwell and worked in youth ministry and counseling before becoming a teacher. He has taught math to kids with learning disabilities at East Mecklenburg for the past 14 years. Before Cross Park, Sunny and Tyre were members at Uptown Church where he served as an elder. In his free time he enjoys gardening, brewing beer, watching the Tar Heels, coaching, and being a scout leader.
Bruce and his wife Mary have been part of Cross Park Church since the beginning. Bruce is the president of SIM USA, a global mission based in Charlotte, NC, with people serving in more than 65 countries. The Johnsons have lived in Charlotte since 1988 and have two grown sons. One of their sons was sent out by Cross Park to do missions in Asia, where he is currently serving. Their other son is a major in the U.S. Air Force. Mary is a gifted artist, and she is also engaged in ministry at Cross Park and also with SIM. Bruce relaxes by sailing on Lake Norman, and he loves to take people sailing (see feel free to ask him)!
Dan was born in Germany, but grew up in Silver Springs, MD. He studied economics at the University of Maryland, and has an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte, along with a number of financial licenses. He and his wife Christina have three sons: Luke, Mark, and Zack. Dan and Christina are foster parents, and they hope to enlarge their family through adoption soon. The Emmons have been at Cross Park since the beginning. The Chronicles of Narnia series was instrumental in Dan’s understanding of his need for a Savior. He has never ridden a horse, he pitched a line about teaching Sunday School and also did the worm on the night he met his wife, and he has been voted the coolest/dorkiest deacon four years running (but not really)!
Stephane is a native of Switzerland, but he spent most of his life in Richmond, VA before moving to Charlotte. He received his undergraduate degree at Grove City College and his Masters of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. Currently, he works at RTS Charlotte as the Vice President of Administration, Advancement, and Alumni Relations. Aside from an obsession with Duke Basketball (much to the chagrin of his pastor and various other congregation members), he loves spending time with his beautiful wife, Kelly-Jane, and their daughter Sophie. Stephane also enjoys a good book or action movie.
